2002 DAF LF45 – Chassis mounted pump system

This unit has served for the last 3 years, as a backup unit to our new mainline systems, capable of producing foamed concrete with a density between 400kg/m3 and 1700kg/m3 plastic density. The capacity of this unit is up to 90 cubic metres per hour dependant on the density of material being produced.

This unit produced foamed concrete for Crossrail, and Gerrards cross, both highly demanding projects with high outputs and specialist mix specifications. It produced the bulk of Crossrail material totalling over 30,000 cubic metres. It produced half of the 10,000 cubic metres needed for Gerrard cross at a density of 450kg/m3.

Concrete system producing 400kg/m3 material at Gerrards Cross.

The unit has a new Bredal hose (this is the main pumping wear item) and new main radial motor (drive unit for main grout pump).

The foamed concrete unit operates via PTO, taken off the drive engine. The PTO unit powers 2 x variable displacement hydraulic pumps (for grout pump and foam generator) which will feed hydraulics to the grout pump and foam generator motors. There is also an additional pump mounted inline to the variable displacement pumps that powers the hydraulic motor for the hopper agitator (2 way).

The inline system features variable speed controls for the grout pump and foam unit allowing constant adjustment of density

The in-line foamed concrete system is truck mounted, self propelled and will produce up to 300m3 in a single shift.

Specifications:

Chassis : 2002 DAF LF 45

Gross max weight: 7.5 ton

Wheelbase: 4.3m wheelbase

Mileage: 97600 miles

Hydraulic system : Twin variable displacement Eaton pumps, solenoid activated manual displacement control.

Hopper: approximately 400L grout hopper with hydraulic agitator motor and paddles

Grout pump : 80mm peristaltic pump, powered by a 5 piston radial motor 11 L/P/Rev 61 RPM

Air compressor: Cast iron triple piston air pump K112 900 rpm 700 LPM,

Water Pump: Triple piston high pressure water pump model 820, 38LPM.

Foaming agent is mixed using a dosatron unit.

Output : 90 cubic metres per hour of foamed concrete

The foamed concrete production unit is mounted on a 2002 Leyland LF chassis, which has been owned by us since new and has only covered 97600 miles. This unit is self-contained, powered from a power take off from the chassis engine. The unit has a 1000l water tank, chemical storage and tool bins for site working. Manufacturing foamed concrete on site is a simple as setting out pump line and having a supply of water. Foamed concrete is manufactured in-line,  fed by a ready-mix grout supplied by a wagon to the rear hopper. the speed of the grout pump and foam generator are independently controlled, allowing the user to adjust the density of foamed concrete on the go.
